100 Series Sun Roof Stuck Closed

Have a 2003 100 series.

100 series sun roof stuck closed.

I know this is an 80 series thread but is most relevant to the issue i am having with my 100 series 2003. Remove the trim ring that holds the sunroof opening headliner that goes all the way around the inside of the headliner once that trim ring is removed pull down on the headliner on the front side of the opening. Close the sunroof lid and loosen the screws on each end of the gates. The track and cable work together to pull the sunroof open and closed.

Can i remove the glass and put it back in with the sunroof closed. I recently did a desert trip and i know some sand got in there and is causing the problem as it worked perfectly before. It kept almost closing and reopening on its own for a few minutes before it just got stuck halfway open. Sunroof components e30 3 series shown e36 similar fig.

Tilt the sunroof into vent position as far as possible then press and hold the same switch for 30 seconds until you see it move release the switch and immediately press and hold it again the sunroof will close and open fully then close again do not release the button until it reaches the closed position for the second time. When one or both of these components break it will render the sunroof useless. Anyone have any suggestions. Open the sunroof lid 2 4 inches 5 10cm.

I am not looking to fix the sunroof to make it open close but want to stop the leak. This can cost more than 800 to complete. We are sure it is the jam protector as it bumped against me. Well you shouldn t have opened it to begin with.

Our sun roof on our 2003 toyota 4 runner is stuck open. I went to shut my sunroof and it was just about closed when it reopened on its own. I can live with my sunroof not working as long as it s closed. If you have a map light or consul box you will need to remove that box to get the headliner to pull down far enough. When i turn the sunroof switch to close it the motor just clicks now. The sun roof is jammed and will not open any more than one or two inches. Sunroof is stuck closed and is leaking a little pours out from the passenger side onto the seat when stopping abruptly.
